Callipers impart mobility to polio affected children and youth who can then lead a near normal life. Under normal wear and tear Callipers can last for upto four to five years. However, for growing children they are changed every two years or so depending upon the growth of the body.
These are fabricated from pre-moulded HDPE components in various sizes as per body measurements. Suitable metallic knee joints are added where required and the Callipers are held with suitable Velcro straps and buckles.
